Hey, friends! 

These weeks go by fast, but these weekends go by faster, right? 

In between rest and fun, I think I might make another Tribune holiday cookie recipe. And if anyone has any good recipes to share, don’t be shy. It is the most wonderful time of the year after all — festive baking season 🍪

Bring the kids to watch acrobats and gymnasts fly through the air at the holiday show at Willye B. White Park Saturday at 7 p.m. and Chase Park Sunday at 4 p.m.

🍌 SATURDAY: ‘Bananas’ live podcast taping in Wicker Park
See comedian Kurt Braunohler’s stand-up set followed by a live taping of his bananas podcast with co-host Scotty Landes at the Den at 8 p.m.

👟 SUNDAY: Read & run in Bronzeville
See the sights and sounds of professor Marcia Chatelain’s “South Side Girls” on a five-mile run with your favorite book-running club Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon. Fuel up at Peach’s afterward! 

🎄 SUNDAY: Greektown Christmas tree lighting Enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and hear Greek Christmas carols at the lighting ceremony at Elysian Field Sunday from 3–4 p.m. Plus, see all the karavákia, or little decorated boats, on display at local businesses through the new year.
