After years of construction along the North Side branch, all Red Line stops are back in operation. The renovated Bryn Mawr, Berwyn, Argyle, and Lawrence stations officially opened Sunday with a commemorative “first ride.”

It’s a bit of happy news for “L” riders, as the Chicago Transit Authority faces a looming fiscal cliff. The Illinois General Assembly recently adjourned its spring session without addressing those budget gaps, which could ultimately lead to a 40% service reduction.
