Are Chicago Food Halls Worth It?

00:00:00

Who says food halls are only for lunch in the Loop? Food halls can help Chicagoans try lots of different bites in one convenient location, which is why the City Cast Chicago team set out to dine at a few.

One of Chicago’s OG food halls, the European-inspired marketplace is housed under the Ogilvie Transportation Center in West Loop. Nothing like grabbing a macaron for the Metra!

While it might be tough to find a meal for under $10 in the Loop, you can get a slice of pizza from Dimo’s or breakfast from Los Milagros. Plus, the food hall also hosts daily happy hours and the occasional trivia night.

With a new name and makeover, the Sears Tower food court might have fewer options compared to peers, but the space is beautiful. Patrons still have choices: You can order lobster, hot dogs, or Indian food at this spot.

Regulars of H Mart and Joong Boo will want to check out this pan-Asian grocery store and food court in East Pilsen, especially the 312 Fish Market stall.

Chicago vegans should flock to this massive Uptown food hall. Not only does it have several local vendors, but it also has a bar, coffee shop, and bodega market. Come to a community event like yoga or karaoke!

Whether you want a steaming bowl of ramen, fresh sushi, or tasty boba tea, the West Town spot is the place for you. Plus, pick up a few more items at the adjoining grocery store.

🍽️ But would we go back?
